For anyone who would like a brief history of recent (1960s and on) history of Indianapolis, Dick Cady's book
Deadline: Indianapolis is an excellent read. I'm only a 100 pages in or so, but it showcases both how far this city has come, but at the same time, shows how many of the same challenges and struggles still exist.
It looks like the Kindle version can be purchased via
Amazon. It's my understanding that the publisher won't be making a second printing, but maybe
Mr. Cady himself can answer on how to obtain a physical copy of the book.
